Third-quarter fundraising numbers posted Friday show Mo Brooks raising just less than $670,000, a little more than a third of what Katie Britt — Brooks’ top opponent in the U.S. Senate race — raised during the same time period.
Britt announced earlier in the week that she has raised more than $1.5 million in the quarter, giving her more than $3.75 million raised since she entered the race with less than a month to go in the second quarter. Britt has nearly $3.3 million on hand.
Brooks also is spending at a much higher rate, burning through 78 percent of the funds he raised in the third quarter.
Despite entering the race months before Britt, getting the endorsement of former President Donald Trump and continuing to poll as the front-runner in the race, Brooks has only $1.8 million on hand and continues to lose ground to Britt in both fundraising and polling.
