Man charged with tried homicide after capturing involving Gurley Police, Madson County Sheriff’s Workplace



GURLEY, Ala. – A person hospitalized after a capturing involving Madison County legislation enforcement officers is now charged with tried homicide.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Workplace confirmed Christopher Matthews, 33 of Gurley, has been charged with two counts of tried homicide, resisting arrest, and try to flee and elude in reference to the incident.

Gurley Police have been referred to as to the world of Wooden Road and Gate Road round 9:30 p.m. Thursday a few suspicious individual.

The officer requested for help from the Madison County Sheriff’s Workplace and a deputy responded.

The officer and deputy confronted Matthews and he ran away. The sheriff’s workplace says whereas Matthews was working, he fired a number of photographs on the officer and deputy. The Gurley Police officer returned fireplace and shot Matthews twice. Neither the officer or deputy have been injured within the incident.

Emergency crews took Matthews to the hospital for remedy of non-life-threatening accidents.

“Our women and men in legislation enforcement go away their households and houses every single day and evening to exit and defend our group,” stated Sheriff Kevin Turner. “I’m grateful that neither the Gurley Police Officer nor our Sheriff’s Deputy was injured final evening, and I’m grateful that their coaching and actions helped them return dwelling safely to their households.”

The investigation is ongoing.
