Shelby backs Britt in Alabama Senate race

Longtime U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) is backing his former chief of workers Katie Britt within the race to exchange him, Politico reported on Thursday.

In an interview with Politico, Shelby mentioned, “she’s in all probability the best-qualified candidate to come back alongside in a very long time… I’d assist her, I’d vote for her.”

Shelby introduced his retirement after six phrases within the U.S. Senate again in February. He’s the longest-serving U.S. Senator in Alabama historical past.
