Alabama approves ban on so-called vaccine passports



MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Alabama lawmakers have authorised a ban so-called vaccine passports that may prohibit proof of a coronavirus vaccination to enter a enterprise, college or occasion.

The Alabama Home of Representatives on Monday voted 76-16 for the invoice. The Alabama Senate agreed to Home adjustments.

Republicans had backed the invoice. They are saying a vaccine passport can be a authorities intrusion into private freedom and well being selections. A lot of Democrats expressed concern after Republicans stripped language exempting nursing properties and different well being places of work.

The invoice now goes to Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey.
