TATE COUNTY, Miss. — A minor who confessed to deliberately torturing and burning a canine in north Mississippi is not going to face costs on account of his age.

In keeping with Tate County Sheriff Brad Lance, the minor confessed to purposely injuring the canine however as a result of the juvenile is beneath the age of 12 he can’t be charged with a criminal offense in Mississippi.

Physician of Veterinary Medication Lisa Godfrey-VanNostrand instructed WREG Monday the canine appeared to have third- and even fourth-degree burns on his face, second-degree burns in his ears and different burns round his eyes.

He was taken to Horn Lake Animal Hospital on Thursday night time and transferred to a different animal hospital in Southaven. The Labrador retriever has since been taken to the Faculty of Veterinary Medication at Mississippi State for around-the-clock care.
