Two charged with hiring males to intimidate assault sufferer in Limestone County

LIMESTONE COUNTY, Ala. — Two folks already charged with assaulting an aged man are going through extra expenses for making an attempt to intimidate the person into dropping the case, Limestone County authorities mentioned Wednesday.

Billy Joe Carruth, 49, and Brittney Nicole Clem, 42, are charged with bribing a witness, intimidating a witness and felony conspiracy to commit first-degree assault.

The costs stem from an assault on the aged man that occurred Oct. 17. Carruth and Clem provided the sufferer $500 in money to drop the costs, based on the Limestone County Sheriff’s Workplace, however the sufferer refused.

Because of this, authorities mentioned Carruth and Clem employed two males to assault the sufferer and scare him into dropping the costs. The assault occurred April 13, when the sheriff’s workplace mentioned Ian Van Hunter and Jonathan Colby Parsons attacked the sufferer and robbed one other one that noticed the assault.

Hunter and Parsons have been arrested final week after two separate pursuits, the sheriff’s workplace mentioned. Hunter’s bond was set at $262,000. Parsons’s bond was $263,000.

Each Carruth and Clem are being held on $255,000 bonds.
